Coach Program Problems on Nike+
The site is great, but I can't get "Coach" programs to work. It won't load anything. I see that others have had issues with the Coach section, so I am hoping that it is being addressed and will be back online soon. Otherwise, I love the improvements to Nike+.

I just called and spoke to Nike's web tech support. They are aware of the problem, but I'm surprised they haven't posted the temporary workaround here yet...so I will.
There's a problem with the US site. you can get around it by temporarily switching your location to English>United Kingdom. You'll find this at the bottom of the web page when you are logged into your account. Once you do this you can set up a Coaching program and then things will work. The rep I spoke to said they are working on this. Worked for me.

Inappropriate?It stopped working for me yesterday. All I see is a spinning circle of infinity. FYI my partner's Coach loads just fine, so is it account specific or what?

Does not seem to be a specific account, computing platform, or browser. Something sucks on Nike's end with their ill-designed website. To me, this is what I bout the Sportband+ for and it is not even a good beta at this point. Hope all us users start to put pressure on Nike. I want a new Sportband the works and new shoes for being such a patient beta tester. -

I have heard that Coach had an illness in the family and had to take a week off without telling anybody. In the mean time I am watching Oprah with a bag of Doritos and a can of Coke. -
Inappropriate?Same here - I'm tired of companies putting together something half-way and then just labeling it we "beta" - It should at least function, not like this system that has a different problem every day of the week.

Inappropriate?Don't worry guys, even if the Coach is lost, when it gets back you simply have to restart it by placing the date of your scheduled initial training back in the date you actually started. You can use the same trick to see just what was scheduled for the following days, even if it won't save it until the glitch is rectified.
No data is lost, it will still show your current workouts in relation to the scheduled ones. When it gets back, everything will be fine.

The old site vs new site discrepancy is still ridiculous. A workaround like that is a laughable substitute for a real fix.
Get on it Nike. Lose the flash, and build a proper functional website. -

Given the Coach is a major selling point of the whole program and the fact that the problem's been reported since the beginning of August. That's so not acceptable.
Especially as it works when you set it as a goal.
So what's not working - the data you save? Or is it something more basic and fundamental? -
And I can interpolate my run time based on the movement of the sun too...how absurd. I bought something to do what it says it can do. -

I have gone in AGAIN and AGAIN, each day, to access my COACH, since it will not load. I heard you needed to clean your cache. DONE, nope, clean your history, DONE.. nope.. disable some firewalls, DONE.. NOPE
I have reloaded yet another 10k training program (inserted my original start date-which was easy) and went to all the trouble to write down each date/workout. It was easier on the old nike website as you could print out your training program. How come this was missed with the new website? FUNCTIONALITY people.. EASE OF USE! FIX THE PROBLEMS!

Also agree that it's not acceptable! I'm trying to start a new program, and since it doesn't load anything, I can't get a schedule out of it. I don't even know where to start! -
Inappropriate?Agreed - this isn't actually a fix. It might be a temporary work around, but considering the site seems to be getting more and more problems (seriously, where did the kilometer support go? It was on the new site six weeks ago.) having a several month work around to access a 12 week program is asking a little much.
Having worked in software for several years, it looks like they put their money behind branding the site, but didn't back that up with meaningful scale and environment (OS and browser version) testing. I'm surprised by the steps back in functionality, which suggests they're migrating from one architecture to another. Flash just isn't that hard to fix...
And if the problem is coming from the architecture change, that's fine - but some messages on the site about what they're doing would have reduced the impact on their customers...

Inappropriate?I too am having this problem with coach. I LOVE this aspect of the website, but feel really let down now that it's not working. I also don't think that the previous solution presented by Kensai regarding entering the original start date will work. I tried that today and it will only let you enter a training program start day of today or sometime in the future. I really hope that they get this back up and running soon!

Inappropriate?Why offer a coach program if
1) the schedule disappears everytime I go back to it (This isn't even running at the basic level).
2) you don't offer a playlist to coincide with the schedule? If the Walk to Run coach program tells me to walk 5 min, then run 1 min, and repeat, why didn't Nike+ set up a playlist with a coach or athlete to coach me through the different actions? You already have Lance Armstrong and other athletes coaching us through other runs.

Inappropriate?I just finished my 6th week and when I went to upload my big run of the week, it acted like I'd never started the program. The coach program has made me stay on top of my running and add distance that I normally wouldn't have, am definitely hoping it gets back on track.

Inappropriate?I've found that if you click of coach from one of the tabs along the bottom of the home screen you get the endless spinning circle doom. And if you click on it on the left, it happily asks me "what do you want to do" (walk, 5k, 10k etc) completely ignoring the fact I already have a program set up.
Being down for a day might have been acceptable, but weeks? No.
Any kind of acknowledgment of the problem from Nike would be good.
A due to my utter laziness I need someone to tell me to run even if it is just my computer... :D

Inappropriate?This is totally unacceptable! The least you can do is post the Coach schedules so we can manually print them out. On a side note, the Nike+ forum is a complete joke. The structure of it makes no sense and half of the links are broken. When you advertise such a large community using NIke+ wouldn't it make sense to actually keep it functional?

Inappropriate?I am a member of Nike's website and those log in work fine. However, I am a first time sign-up for the My Coach... and it won't let me past assigning a "screen name". I assign one, hit "save" and there I sit with it keep asking me to select one. I can't get beyond this screen into the program. What a bummer.

Inappropriate?I had started the Walk to Run program and did not had any issues. Just started the 5k program and the runs shown in the coach program are the ones from one month ago, I would no show the recent uploaded ones. When I go to all runs the new runs are there......

For the record, this is Nike's failure, not Apple's. I have yet to have a problem with the actual Nike+ kit and iPod. However, the Nike+ site has been tripe for quite a while. Way to go Nike... -
Inappropriate?It doesn't look like anyone from Nike Tech support even reads the forums. I signed up for this because I thought it would be a great tool, but if they aren't willing to address problems I may just return my new toys. Bummer!

Inappropriate?I was trying to set the "walk-to-run" but I got tired to check everyday if it was available...now I think I will go for "coolrunnuning.com" and throw away this shoes and keep the ipod just for inspiration...apple should not be doing business with a company that doesn't even care to address the concerns of its customers. I'm going to give a try the "The couch to 5 K" program and see what results I will get.

I did the couch to 5k program (not here on nike) and it works incredibly. It took me from struggling to finish 1 minute of running to running 30 min without walking in a matter of 4 months. Now im training for a half marathon! Just dont rush it and it will work! i loved it and good luck! -

There MUST be a better app out there with a working website. Anyone have a NON Nike suggestion? I'm sick of wearing the Nike + shoes anyway...not all that great for running.
